The Qualifications and Credit Framework

Welcome to Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Interactive Guide. This resource is designed to give quick and easy access to information about the QCF.  The site will be useful to people such as governors, college principals, administration staff, tutors, careers advisers and curriculum developers working in colleges and other learning providers.

The QCF is intended to be a rationale and flexible system for qualifications, where qualifications can be built up from units and achievement (credit) awarded for units and qualifications. The Skills Funding Agency is responsible for implementing QCF across the post 19 further education and skills system in England.  In addition, the Skills Funding Agency is also responsible for the development and deployment of the Personal Learning Record Service, which offers a simple facility to record all QCF learner achievement. Providers and advisers will also support the learner to access and interpret their QCF achievement data via the Personal Learning Record, and will play a critical role in assigning and verifying a learner's Unique Learner Numbers (ULNs).

Here you will find a set of modules, structured around key themes and presented with visual introductions and content broken down into an easily digestible format. At the end of each module you will find a short exercise which outputs a downloadable certificate. We hope this provides you with a useful asset to account towards your continuous professional development.
